     Living in the middle east, music is very restricted to the Billboard charts. Being a true Desi, and loving Desi music (desi meaining relating to or characteristic of South Asia), i’ve come up with this site dedicated to all those great vocalists, producers, DJs, songwriters etc.
Hence, I’ve worked on this for long with the help of my boy Aqib (much respect). My mission is to expose all the mind blowing music the South Asian scene has to offer. It’s short and simple. I’m sure Aqib (DJ Evolution) shares the same love and dedication towards this music.
Where i live (Kuwait), people haven’t heard ANYTHING! Neither have access, belittling the topic of rising, upcoming desi sounds. PEOPLE, its ur own music damaging intl charts. These artists are making serious noise abroad.

So YOU think that Jay Sean, Raghav and Panjabi MC are the only artists that the mainstream “desi” music world has to offer. Hell NO……Guess again!! These 3 names are without a doubt the most recognised, but the road DOES NOT end here. A few years have passed since Dr. Dre produced Truth Hurts “Addictive”, which was a massive hit worldwide. Since then the desi influence has become one of the most influential in the Urban music scene. (Urban) Desi music is mostly produced in countries like England, the USA, Canada and Denmark. Especially England has the most talent and artists active in the scene. With names like: The Panjabi Hit Squad, The Rishi Rich Project and RDB, to name a few. These guys are considered as superstars in some countries where a lot of desi people live.

All we have are the commercial released tracks (Jay Sean- Panjabi MC) and some radio and television stations that sometimes give attention to some new artists. It is my intention to let the wind blow from an different angle. A desi angle!

I want people to give it a try, listen and make their own decisions. I don’t care if you like it or not, LISTEN and judge. “You can chuck these tunes in ur car, mp3, hi-fis, turn the volume to 100 and let the music take control,” (Bobby Friction). English music is easily accessible. So this site is for all the lazy ones those who want desi music. Obviously i do not have the capability to provide all the stuff going on, but i will try to provide all i can, and definitely the crem de la crem off South Asian.

My plan is to provide information about artists, album reviews cd’s, singles and keep the people up to date about the developments in the scene. Watch out for pictures from gigs, melas, concerts, interviews. Visitors will be able to listen to songs in the music area so they can get to know the artists and their work.
